Luxor

Luxor, ancient Thebes, is a modern Egyptian city on the Nile River, renowned as the "world's greatest open-air museum" for its vast collection of ancient Egyptian temples, tombs, and monuments from the New Kingdom, when it served as the political and religious capital. Key sites include the Karnak and Luxor Temples on the East Bank, and the Valley of the Kings and Valley of the Queens on the West Bank. The city is divided by the Nile into the "city of the living" (East Bank) and the "city of the dead" (West Bank), and its economy relies heavily on tourism.
